You got into juggling to help with your self-esteem and found you really do like it a lot. You have some magazines with your favorite juggler picture in them and want to keep them looking nice. They will not mean as much if you let them get all wrinkled and torn.
So how do you keep your favorite juggler picture from getting trashed? You could try several things like just cutting it out and putting it in a frame just like Mom does with all your school pictures. That way it would be protected and be behind a plate of glass.
Another way to protect your picture is to get it laminated. Lamination will still keep the picture protected but not from bends and creases. This may not be completely suitable for your picture.
If it is a picture that you took yourself then my first suggestion would be to frame it. but sometimes that can be kinda lame especially if you do not find a good frame. You could do what I have seen them do with some valuable baseball or football cards and have them mounted between two pieces of plexiglass or acrylic. You can see through the plexiglass or acrylic, and the picture is completely protected.
If you choose to do this yourself and you screw the pieces of plexiglass or acrylic, together then be sure to screw them together gently so you don’t crack or break the corners.
Do you have more than one picture that you took? You could make them digital and them load them into one of those digital frames so that they will pan through and you will get to see all of your pictures one by one as long as the digital frame is on.
You could start a scrapbook for another idea. Any pictures of juggling or jugglers you find can be put into this scrapbook along with ticket stubs and brochures or flyers and programs from the festival. Anything to do with your love of juggling can go into a scrapbook. This is something that you can save forever and show to your children or grandchildren.
Just go to your local craft store and pick up a scrapbook kit to get yourself started. You might find other good ideas at the craft store for keeping pictures safe, too.
Like shadow boxes, you probably already know how to make a shadow box. I know in school we made shadow boxes out of the bottom part of a shoebox. Well, they have all different sizes of shadow boxes that look a heck of a lot better than a shoebox and they are for memorabilia like pictures and such, much like a scrapbook only you can hang them on a wall or put them on a shelf.
There are many ways to protect your juggler picture from becoming a wrinkled mess, just use some of these tips or use your imagination to come up with other ways to do it.
