In this video Beejay Joyer provides an exciting step-by-step explanation on how to juggle “The Kraken.” A somewhat simple, yet VERY versatile pattern. Also, Beejay demonstrates several variations of The Kraken that are sure to tie your brain in a knot. If you already know The Kraken, skip to 2:37 to see the variations. juggling/instruction by Beejay filming/editing by Steve Good luck, and happy juggling! **EDIT / UPDATE** Turns out, the siteswap for The Kraken is NOT 42333. It’s just 3. Oops! The final variation shown at the end of the video is 4233333… Luckily, The Kraken is not a pattern that would normally be best described using any siteswap talk… Still, It completely baffles me that neither Beejay nor myself realized our mistake before making this video, or during the filming/editing process.. Anyway, this video still demonstrates the pattern(s) well enough to serve as a useful tutorial. Please ignore the brief segments of the video that provide incorrect siteswap information. The appropriate ‘annotation’ corrections have been made.

**Ignore the part about the contest. The voting period has ended. I lost.** A fun and exciting tutorial video to help you learn a cool 23 variation that I call “the traffic light.” This video turned out to be much longer than I anticipated, but I think it’s best if the video can be useful to jugglers of all skill levels. So, I included full explanations of several patterns and exercises to build up to the final 23 variation. If you are an ‘advanced’ juggler, just juggle 23 in false mess, throw the 2s, call it whatever you want, and don’t bother watching this video. If you don’t know what 23 means, watch my siteswap tutorial: part1 www.youtube.com part2 www.youtube.com Check out my main channel! www.youtube.com

I’m not sure if this trick has a more specific name, other than “cross-arm cascade with continuous under-the-wrist catches.” Someone should really come up with a shorter name for this trick. Believe it or not, this trick is *simply* a 3ball cascade… with some wacky hand movements. If you are unable to learn this trick quickly, you either need to practice more or perhaps you are not ready to learn this trick. This is not a trick for beginners. Make sure you are VERY comfortable with the cross-arm cascade in both hand positions before even attempting the under-the-wrist catches. Check out my main youtube channel! www.youtube.com Thanks for watching! Happy juggling!

Seriously, if you can already juggle 5 balls and you are already working on 6 balls, this video might not be helpful at all… Anyone who has spent enough time juggling to learn several basic patterns with 3, 4, and 5 balls will probably already know enough about juggling to be able to learn 6 balls on their own without any trouble.. I only made this video because I have had several requests for it over the last couple years, and I have a lot of free time right now.. This video is not so much of a “how to juggle 6 balls” video, but more of a “thoughts about learning 6ball juggling” video.. or something like that… Some people can obtain a SOLID 5 ball pattern in less than a year.. 6 balls will probably take you at least a couple of years before you can even begin to think it might be solid. Good luck! If you aren’t a very proficient 5ball juggler, check out my 5ball tutorial first. There are a lot of practice techniques in the 5ball video that can also be applied to learning 6ball juggling, and there is a segment that demonstrates a practical way to hold / catch / release 3 balls from one hand. Here’s the link: www.youtube.com And if you are not yet familiar with siteswap notation, you really should be. Watch my siteswap tutorial: part1 – www.youtube.com part2 – www.youtube.com There is always a lot of discussion between jugglers about what 6 ball pattern is the easiest to juggle. It really depends on what YOU spend the most time practicing. Sync fountain is considered …
This guy was hanging out in Yoyogi park in Harajuku, Tokyo, on a Sunday afternoon. He has clearly practiced a lot! I loved the music he played during his performance. My friends and I were completely mesmerized. He has a very expressive face too, with a charming smile… it really sells the show in the end. Made me feel like a little kid. UPDATE: This video has been up for nearly a year now and I have some information that some of my viewers will appreciate. First, the juggler’s name is Okotanpe – and yes he’s amazing – one of my favorite memories of Japan! Second, the song that he uses in his final act is called ソレイユ (soreiyu, spelled using katakana, meaning sun, is the Japanese pronunciation of the French word “soleil”, also meaning sun). It is sung by Yoshie Nakano 中納良恵. Here’s a link to the video: www.youtube.com The beginning of the song is by UA (ううあ) and it comes from an old Japanese folk song: www.youtube.com Here are the traditional lyrics: www.cameraslens.com I don’t know exactly what size ball Okotanpe uses in this video (other users have suggested that it is 95mm – 100mm), but you’re welcome to ask him. Here’s his youtube page: www.youtube.com Also, here’s his official webpage: okotanpe.com Here’s where you can buy a crystal ball pouch like Pakkun welovegreen.ocnk.net If you’re interested in contact juggling, check out this online community: www.contactjuggling.org Hope this info helps!
